What is lead generation, and why is it important?
Today in part two of my lead generation series, we’ll learn all about what lead generation is. As a team leader, I’m often asked why lead generation is important, and what the goal of it is. Lead generation is an ever-evolving list of ideas, methods, and practices that bring leads to your business. There are three things to think about when it comes to lead generation:
- It’s the lifeblood of your business. It’s how you communicate with past and current clients, and how you find new clients.
- Lead generation should be purposeful and intentional.
- It gets you closer to your goal of finding more buyers and sellers.
When you’re looking to generate leads, think of the kinds of people you want to work with and in what areas you want to be an expert. The most effective lead generation tactics are prospecting-based and marketing-enhanced.
“By incorporating both, you are building your current and future business.”
Prospecting-based lead generation is where you’re actively looking for business opportunities every day, and you’re working alongside the clients you already have. It’s both time-intensive and proactive, and it gives you the most immediate results.
Marketing-enhanced lead generation is more money-intensive and passive than prospecting-based, but it gives you better long-term results. By incorporating both, you are building your current and future business.
